Although I am usually inspired by projects with open themes, I also enjoy the challenge of painting portraits. I derive great pleasure from painting faces and trying to bring out the best in them while remaining the artist I am—and not a substitute photographer. The trust and freedom of expression given to me by those who I paint are critical.
